Rigaku and JEOL
In May 2020, Rigaku and JEOL entered into a joint development agreement and started collaboration on an “ultra-micro single crystal structure analysis platform.” This platform combines Rigaku’s elemental technologies of equipment for single crystal structure analysis and JEOL’s transmission electron microscope technologies. The XtaLAB Synergy-ED, which demonstrates the synergy of the core technologies of both companies, enables single-crystal structure analysis using utra-small crystals of several tens to several hundred nanometers, which was not possible with conventional technologies. In addition, unlike conventional methods, XtaLAB Synergy-ED does not require data processing techniques or expertise in crystallography, making it possible to seamlessly perform a series of processes from data collection to analysis, and to begin structural analysis by electron diffraction immediately after installation.
This contributes to research and development not only in academia but also in cutting-edge fields such as new drug development.
