Rigaku and JEOL
In May 2020, Rigaku and JEOL entered into a joint development agreement and started collaboration on an “ultra-micro single crystal structure analysis platform.” This platform combines Rigaku’s elemental technologies of equipment for single crystal structure analysis and JEOL’s transmission electron microscope technologies. The XtaLAB Synergy-ED, which demonstrates the synergy of the core technologies of both companies, enables single-crystal structure analysis using utra-small crystals of several tens to several hundred nanometers, which was not possible with conventional technologies. In addition, unlike conventional methods, XtaLAB Synergy-ED does not require data processing techniques or expertise in crystallography, making it possible to seamlessly perform a series of processes from data collection to analysis, and to begin structural analysis by electron diffraction immediately after installation.
This contributes to research and development not only in academia but also in cutting-edge fields such as new drug development.
Since its founding in 1951, Rigaku Corporation has been at the forefront of analytical and industrial instrumentation, with X-ray and thermal analysis as its core technologies. Today, the Rigaku Group is based not only in Japan, but also in the United States, Europe, China, and other parts of the world. We play a leading role in the fields of general-purpose X-ray diffraction (XRD), thin film analysis (XRF, XRD, XRR), fluorescent X-ray analysis (TXRF, EDXRF, WDXRF), small-angle X-ray scattering analysis (SAXS), protein and small molecule X-ray crystallography, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray optical devices, semiconductor inspection (TXRF, XRF, XRD, XRR), X-ray generators, CT scanning, non-destructive testing, and thermal analysis.
We have fostered partnerships, communication, and innovation globally through industry with our advantage of having knowledge about X-rays and its surrounding technologies. Rigaku will continue to provide integrated solutions for a wide variety of fields including protein structure analysis, nanotechnology development, general purpose X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), materials analysis, and quality assurance.
